서울스퀘어는 1977년에 완공되었으며 당시 대우그룹의 본사 건물로 사용되었습니다.
1970~1980년대는 대한민국이 급격한 산업화와 경제 성장을 이루던 시기였고, 이 건물은 그 시대를 대표하는 상징적인 고층 건물 중 하나였습니다.
당시 서울 도심에서 밤늦게까지 불이 켜진 모습으로 유명해지며 대한민국 성장의 상징처럼 인식되기도 했습니다.
Completed in 1977, Seoul Square originally served as the headquarters of the Daewoo Group.
During Korea’s rapid industrial growth in the 1970s and 1980s, the building became one of the symbols of modernization and urban development.
Its illuminated appearance at night became closely associated with Korea’s economic growth era.

새로운 이름, 새로운 시작
A New Identity After Transformation
1997년 외환위기 이후 대우그룹이 해체되면서 건물 역시 새로운 전환점을 맞이하게 되었습니다.
이후 리모델링을 거쳐 2009년 ‘서울스퀘어(Seoul Square)’라는 이름으로 새롭게 재탄생했습니다.
외관과 내부 모두 현대적인 오피스 공간으로 변화하면서 서울 도심의 대표 비즈니스 랜드마크 중 하나가 되었습니다.
Following the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997 and the restructuring of the Daewoo Group, the building entered a new chapter.
After extensive renovation, it reopened in 2009 under the new name Seoul Square.
Today, it stands as one of Seoul’s most recognizable business landmarks.
