During a stop at Jinyeong Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Expressway, I came across something surprisingly interesting.
바로 사람이 아닌 로봇이 직접 만들어 주는 ‘로봇 우동(Robot Udon)’ 이었습니다.
It was a Robot Udon system where the food is prepared not by people but by automated robotic equipment.
단순한 자동 조리 기계라고 생각했지만 실제로는 주문부터 조리, 완성까지 하나의 생산 라인처럼 움직이는 모습이 인상적이었습니다.
At first, I expected a simple automated cooking machine, but the entire process—from ordering to cooking and serving—worked like a miniature production line.
이번 방문에서는 직접 주문을 진행했고, 조리 과정을 사진과 영상으로 촬영하여 GIF 이미지로 기록해 보았습니다.
During this visit, I placed an order myself and captured the entire cooking process through photos and videos, later creating them into a GIF image.

먼저 키오스크에서 주문과 결제를 진행합니다.
First, customers place their order and complete payment through a kiosk.
결제가 완료되면 조리 시스템이 자동으로 시작됩니다.
Once payment is completed, the cooking system automatically begins.

Watching the entire process felt like observing a small smart factory.
사람이 직접 조리하지 않는데도 예상보다 훨씬 깔끔하고 체계적으로 움직였습니다.
Even without direct human cooking, the process appeared cleaner and more systematic than expected.
특히 레일을 따라 이동하며 우동이 완성되는 모습은 단순한 음식 제조가 아니라 하나의 볼거리처럼 느껴졌습니다.
Especially impressive was seeing the bowl travel along the rail while gradually becoming a completed meal—it felt more like an attraction than food preparation.

예전에는 공장이나 물류센터 중심으로 자동화가 진행되었다면 이제는 음식 산업까지 빠르게 변화하고 있습니다.

주문부터 조리, 제공까지 사람의 개입 없이 운영되는 시스템이 점점 늘어나고 있습니다.
Systems that operate from ordering to cooking and serving with minimal human involvement are becoming increasingly common.

This transformation certainly brings advantages.

하지만 다른 한편으로 생각해 보면 고민도 남습니다.
However, there is another side to consider.
