성주군 하면 보통 참외를 먼저 떠올립니다. 하지만 성주에는 아직 많이 알려지지 않은 숨은 맛집들도 존재합니다. 이번에 방문한 곳은 성주군 가천면에 위치한 장수유황오리입니다.
When people think of Seongju, melons usually come to mind first. However, Seongju also has many hidden local restaurants. This time, I visited Jangsu Sulfur Duck located in Gacheon-myeon, Seongju.
처음에는 일반적인 오리불고기 식당이라고 생각했습니다. 하지만 음식이 나오자 생각이 달라졌습니다.
At first, I expected an ordinary duck bulgogi restaurant. But once the food arrived, my impression completely changed.
이곳의 특징은 오리불고기를 주문하면 통오징어 한 마리가 함께 올라간다는 점입니다.
The specialty here is that when you order duck bulgogi, a whole squid is served together on top.
처음 보는 순간 오삼불고기를 떠올리게 됩니다. 하지만 실제로 먹어보면 완전히 다른 음식이라는 것을 느끼게 됩니다.
At first glance, it reminds you of Korean squid and pork bulgogi, but once you taste it, you realize it is a completely different experience.
양념된 오리고기와 통오징어가 함께 익어가고, 조리가 진행되는 동안 사장님이 직접 가위를 들고 오징어를 먹기 좋게 잘라 주며 볶아줍니다.
Seasoned duck and whole squid cook together, and while it is being prepared, the owner personally cuts the squid with scissors and stir-fries everything together.
오징어의 쫄깃한 식감과 오리고기의 담백한 풍미가 어우러지면서 독특한 조화를 만들어 냅니다.
The chewy texture of squid and the rich yet clean flavor of duck create an unexpectedly perfect combination.
개인적으로는 이 메뉴를 보며 오삼불고기가 아니라 ‘오오불고기’라는 이름이 더 잘 어울린다는 생각이 들었습니다.
Personally, this dish felt more like “Squid & Duck Bulgogi” rather than the typical squid bulgogi style.

각종 채소와 함께 제공되는 정갈한 반찬 덕분에 한 상이 정말 푸짐하게 차려집니다.

오리와 오징어를 충분히 즐긴 뒤 마지막에는 남은 양념에 밥을 볶아줍니다.
After enjoying the duck and squid, the meal finishes with fried rice cooked in the remaining sauce.
볶음밥은 단순한 후식이 아니라 마지막 메인 메뉴처럼 느껴질 정도로 만족도가 높았습니다.
